c. 1930 Goodyear Tire Inner Tube, New In Box
Here we have an extremely scarce, new-in-the-box, Goodyear Tire inner tube, in 30"x 3.5" - just the right size for a Model T! This original part has been difficult to date, but due to the Akron, OH stamping, the use of undyed rubber for the tube (as opposed to the now-standard black), and the font used for the logo, we are confident in saying this tube was made before 1930.
The original box measures approximately 12" x 4" x 3.5", and shows wear consistent with its near-100-year age; there are rips and areas where the packaging has worn from handling or tape scarring, small creases, and a $2.50 price scrawled in pencil on one end of the package. The inner box, which serves as a tray to hold the tube, has significant foxing to the paper.
