What about packaging?
As you might imagine, most of our products don’t include packaging when we pick them, or they are consigned with us. Because of that, and the inherent fragility of many items we carry, we personally package every piece that comes through our gallery.
To do this in a responsible way, we use clean, structurally-sound used boxes and packing materials whenever possible. When packaging in this way, we do not charge a handling fee.
For larger fragile items, we build custom crates at the buyer’s expense for safe transport and shipping, and we will send pieces to a professional packer for added security at your request!
What about shipping?
When your order is processed, we will reach out to you with a follow-up email to confirm your preferred handling option.
If you prefer not to pick up your items at our gallery in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, there are a variety of shipping options available to you, depending on where you live!
LOCAL DELIVERY
Many of the items we sell are fragile or require special handling of some kind. To minimize the risk of damage, we will personally deliver your piece(s) to your location in Newport County, Rhode Island, at no cost and at your convenience.
REGIONAL DELIVERY
With the same care, we will personally deliver your piece(s) to your location in the Northeast United States, at your cost and schedule permitting.
SHIPPING - SMALL ITEMS
Our preferred handler, the United States Post Office, is likely your best option for shipping smaller items. Their tracking service is frequently the most reliable, and we have had no lost or damaged packages through their service. We can often get items in the mail same-day if orders are processed before noon. If you prefer, we will ship your items through a different service. Contact us to arrange international shipping and request a quote before purchasing! All shipping via carrier is at the buyer’s expense.
SHIPPING - LARGE ITEMS
There are a variety of freight options for buyers of larger pieces or large lots of items, depending on the freight in question, the required delivery timeframe, the availability of a commercial receiving address, and other factors. Please contact us before purchasing to inquire about shipping large items and request a quote!
